About the Presenters
Jeff Jay is an educator, author and interventionist. His work has appeared on CNN, the Jane Pauley Show, PBS, Forbes Online and professional journals. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and a certified addictions professional. He has served on the boards of directors for several professional and treatment organizations.
Jeff Jay is the coauthor of "Love First: A New Approach to Intervention for Alcoholism and Drug Addiction," Hazelden, 2000. His new book from Hazelden is "At Wit's End: What You Need to Know When a Loved One is Diagnosed with Addiction and Mental Illness." He is is a former clinician with the Hazelden Foundation and also Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center. His personal recovery from addiction dates from October 4, 1981.
"I am passionate about intervention for a very simple reason," says Jeff. "Intervention saved my life."
Debra Jay is and acclaimed author, speaker and educator. She has appeared regularly on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Debra Jay is the best-selling author of "No More Letting Go: The Spirituality of Taking Action against Alcoholism and Drug Addiction," published by Bantam in 2006. Ms. Jay has also co-authored two Hazelden Guidebooks: "Love First" and "Aging and Addiction: How to help older adults overcome alcohol and medication dependence."
Debra Jay is a graduate of Ohio State University. She has worked as an addiction specialist for the Hazelden Foundation.
